Types of Baby Moniters
If you are having a baby you
have no doubt thought about the need for a baby monitor. A baby
monitor is a device that will allow you to hear, and in some cases, even see your baby as they are in their crib
sleeping. This is a nice tool to have because it will allow you to
sleep with the knowledge that if your baby starts to cry you will be able to hear him or her and go to their
aide if necessary. Most parents sleep a lot better knowing that
they will hear their baby if they cry or start to cough or even choke.
There are a couple of
different types of baby moniters on the market today for you to choose from. You can decide after learning about them which is actually the best option for
you, your needs, and your home.
One Way Baby Moniters
One way baby moniters are
perhaps the most common type. This type of baby monitor basically has a speaker in the baby’s room with a
receiver that is placed in the parents’ room. This allows for any
sounds that come from the baby’s room to be heard where the receiver is with the parent. This allows for the parent to know when the baby awakens and begins to cry,
when they cough, or even when they choke or anything of this nature.
Two Way Baby Moniters
Two way baby moniters are
much like the one way baby moniters except now the parents can hear the baby but the parents can also choose to
allow baby to hear them. These work a lot like walkie talkie type
radios where the parent can depress a button and talk to the baby.
This comes in really handy when a baby just needs a little bit of reassurance that they are not all alone and
they can go back to sleep.
Video Baby Moniters
Video baby moniters are very
popular today. These can be either one way or two ways and they not
only allow you to hear baby, but also to see baby. The screen is
usually no bigger than 12 inches and may be color or black and white. With the video monitors you have the added bonus of actually being able to see
what baby is doing and why they may be crying or making noise. For
parents who worry about their baby quite a bit when they are sleeping in their bed, this can be a life
saver.
